SOME FACTS ABOUT WATER-INTAKE

SOME FACTS ABOUT WATER-INTAKE

In the morning,I have seen my son's friend Ram rushing towards wash room many times.I observed two water bottles beside his bed last night and understood the situation which I had undergone a decade ago.I enquired him about it and he said that he is reading a book about water intake and as it recommended 6 lts/day which he is following for about a month.I know many and many people following that Water therapy. To my observation those people who are taking that much liters of water started raising their bellies and putting on weight. Even read in a magazine about taking excess of water leads to HYPONATREMIA i.e when your kidneys are unable to excrete the excess water, the mineral content of the blood is diluted resulting low sodium levels in the blood, Marathon runners who drink large amounts of water are at risk .In general, though drinking too much water is rare in healthy adults who eat an average diet; we are coming through many people like Ram in our daily lives.

Its not my notion to make you scared of drinking water; but felt that one should know the facts about it.Many studies have produced varying recommendations over the years regarding how much water to drink and when to drink etc etc.
Ayurveda says,a double handful of water for a time is enough.Whereas Japanese Hydrotherapy recommends 1-one and half litres of water in the early hours heals many ailments in the body by itself. After coming through many studies, I came to understand that no single formula fits everyone.Thirst is an alarm for drinking water.Even urine alarms us that the body needs more water when it is yellow in color. On the whole, water needs depends on many factors like health, climatically conditions, according to our activity and many more.

No doubt, water is essential for health and it plays the vital role on the body and makes up about 60% of our body weight and it helps to flush out the toxins.Lack of water leads to dehydration.
